Field note
Lock-ups that quietly cancel a high rate
Cool-downs, early-exit penalties, and why Digital Cloud Digital puts exit windows beside every DeFi yield row.
A farm advertising a rich rate with a ninety-day hard lock is not the same product as a flexible pool two points lower. During Smart Crypto Calculator PC sessions we add columns for cool-down length and early-exit penalties next to the yield figure so the trade-off stays visible.
Bridge time matters too. Moving liquidity between chains to chase a temporary emission can erase weeks of apparent edge once gas and bridge delays enter the sheet. We do not model every bridge route — we ask clients which corridors they actually use and stress those.
If documentation is silent on exits, we mark the row as incomplete rather than assuming zero friction. Incomplete rows rarely win the comparison until the client finds a clearer source.
